Privacy notice

This notice covers the mayanmentor.com website and the Mayan Mentor web demo. The iOS and Android apps are not released yet; we will update this notice to cover them before they launch. Mayan Mentor has no accounts or ads, and we add no analytics or tracking code.

Your learning progress

The web demo saves your learning progress, such as completed levels, accuracy, XP, and your day streak, only in your browser, in local storage under the key maya-glyphs:progress:v1. It is never sent to us or anywhere else.

To delete it, clear the site data for mayanmentor.com in your browser settings. The demo then starts again from the beginning.

Hosting

This site is hosted on OpenAI’s ChatGPT Sites, which runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, they process IP addresses and request logs to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, and they may set a strictly necessary security cookie for that purpose. ChatGPT Sites also records visits automatically and shows the site owner visit statistics.

Their own policies describe how they handle this data: OpenAI privacy policy and Cloudflare privacy policy.

Credits and sources link to other sites, such as classicmayan.org and creativecommons.org. Those links leave this site, and the sites they lead to have their own privacy practices.

If you email us

If you write to us, for example with the “Email me at launch” link, we receive your email address and your message. We use them to reply to you or, if you asked, to tell you when the app launches. Ask us at any time and we will delete them.
